Africans Rising has opened registration for the third edition of the All-African Movements Assembly (AAMA), taking place in Maputo, Mozambique, from 5 to 7 November 2026 under the theme “United Africa: The Future We Want.” The Assembly brings together African movements, activists, organisers, civil society organisations, and allies from across the continent and the diaspora to strengthen collective action towards a more united Africa.
Over the years, AAMA has become a space for African movements to come together, connect across borders, and reflect on collective work, building on the vision and commitments articulated at previous Assemblies in Arusha and Accra. This year’s AAMA will offer an opportunity to take that work forward, assess progress and challenges, and re-strategise on the path ahead.
Participation in AAMA 2026 also offers the opportunity to build relationships with movements and organisers from across Africa, exchange knowledge and experience, contribute to continental conversations, and identify opportunities for collective action.
The Assembly will feature keynote presentations, fireside conversations, breakout sessions, movement exchanges, healing and reflection spaces, discussions on the Kilimanjaro Declaration, and artistic activism and cultural activities including the Borderless Africa Concert.
The programme will explore critical issues shaping Africa’s future: governance, democracy, and people’s power; economic justice; climate and ecological justice; gender justice; reparations; African unity and Borderless Africa; and emerging technologies and digital organising.
Registration is now open via management.africansrising.org.
Movements, organisations, and individuals committed to building a united Africa are encouraged to register and to be part of this continental gathering in Maputo.
