Violence against women  and girls in all their diversity is the most pervasive human rights violation rooted in gender inequality and discrimination, unequal power relations and harmful social norms. Despite many African countries being part of the human rights frameworks including CEDAW, Maputo protocol and many others, African member states still grapple with the role of protecting women which has resulted in FEMICIDE in the last decade.

Increasingly we have continued to witness violence against women and girls especially killing women in all their diversity has been on the rise. For instance last month Kenyan women marched to the street to demand for protection and their right to life and existence, this as a result of recurrent femicide cases rose and nothing much was done.

The webinar will be convened online targeting women and girls of Africa in all their diversity, policy makers ,Women’s Rights Organisations, Feminists, Adolescent Girls and Young Women.
