Africans Rising mourns a board member – Ms. Milouda Bouichou

With profound sorrow,  we announce the demise of our beloved Comrade and Co-Chair of Africans Rising Coordinating Collective (board) Ms. Milouda Bouichou.  The sad event occurred on 4th September, 2023 after being ill for a short while.  Milouda was a committed Pan-Africanist, feminist, activist,  fighter, a soldier in the revolution and struggle to unify Africa. Milouda had been re-elected for a second and final term in the Coordinating Collective as Co-Chair just a few weeks ago.

Milouda was a data scientist hailing from Morocco. She held a PhD in Mathematics and an Engineering degree in Statistics and Applied Economics. She had vast experience and knowledge in media and information literacy, universal access to digital technology, cyberspace, digital human rights, youth engagement and used Artificial Intelligence (AI) in research and development.

It is such a big loss for the African continent, the Africans Rising Movement and the revolutionary fight to unify Africa. We honour her by continuing with what she firmly stood for.

The Africans Rising Secretariat is in contact with her family on the funeral arrangements and will update members and the public as appropriate. In the meantime, we ask all members to keep the family in thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Rest well Milouda!!
