About Maurice Samba

IT Lead

Maurice Samba is a Pan-African from Senegal, a digital communications and technology professional, creative strategist, and movement builder committed to advancing justice, peace, dignity, and unity across Africa and the African diaspora.

He serves as Lead IT Officer at Africans Rising, where he works at the intersection of technology, digital communications, movement building, and Pan-African mobilisation. His role involves strengthening the digital systems and platforms that enable Africans Rising to connect its members, support campaigns, facilitate communication, and amplify the voices and struggles of people across the continent and the diaspora.

Maurice believes that technology should serve people and movements. His work focuses on making digital tools more accessible and useful for organising, advocacy, storytelling, participation, and collective action. He has extensive experience in website management, digital strategy, social media, online campaigns, audiovisual production, livestreaming, and the development of digital platforms for organisations and social movements.

He is also the Founder and CEO of MauPDG Digital Diwan, a Senegal-based digital marketing and communications agency through which he supports organisations, initiatives, and institutions in developing stronger digital identities and communication strategies. His work combines technology, creativity, communications, and strategic thinking to help organisations communicate their ideas and engage their audiences more effectively.

Maurice is deeply interested in youth participation, African leadership, social transformation, and the role of digital technologies in strengthening African movements. He founded Youth Meeting Senegal, an initiative created to encourage youth engagement, dialogue, leadership, and civic participation. He also works as a coach with the African Coaching Network (ACN), supporting leadership and personal development.

He holds a degree in Human Geography from Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar, Senegal, and has undertaken training in Social Transformation and Leadership in Brazil. His academic and professional journey has shaped his understanding of communities, social dynamics, development, and the importance of African-led approaches to transformation.

As a Pan-African from Senegal, Maurice sees Africa not simply as a geographical space, but as a community connected by shared histories, struggles, aspirations, and possibilities. He is particularly passionate about strengthening solidarity among Africans, challenging narratives that divide the continent, and using technology and communications to build bridges between movements, generations, countries, and communities.

Through his work with Africans Rising and other initiatives, Maurice contributes to a growing movement of Africans working collectively for a more just, peaceful, united, dignified, and self-determined Africa.
