We, the people and descendants of Africa are conscious of the need for Africa to <\/span>Unite for Justice, Peace and Dignity. Even as we acknowledge the continuous resistance of our people against exploitative powers, we are equally conscious of the devastating consequences of centuries of oppression. We strongly condemn the plunder of our natural resources and the suppression of our fundamental human rights.<\/span><\/p>\n

We affirm the pride and self-esteem of the African people to build the Africa We <\/span>Want – a right to peace, social inclusion and shared prosperity in the supreme interest of mitigating the \u2018Great Reset\u2019 by powerful global forces who are determined to re-organise the digital and physical economy that is deepening the exclusion of Africa by depriving us the right to our sovereignty over our resources and people.<\/span><\/p>\n

Considering the foregoing, we are determined to foster a unity of purpose and solidarity to build an Africa that is anchored on Unity, Justice, Peace and Dignity. We are building from a proud history, guided by our ancestral wisdom, before the last 500 years of slavery, colonialism and brutal exploitative economic systems.<\/span><\/p>\n

THE CONFERENCE DECLARED THAT:<\/h4>\n
    \n
  1. Africa is a rich continent, and her wealth belongs to all her people. We commit to fight for economic justice qualified by socio-political development.<\/span>\n

    <\/span><\/li>\n

  2. Africans have a diverse, rich, and powerful heritage that is important to heal ourselves and repair the damage done by neoliberalism to our humanity and environment. Being Africans and embracing African philosophies such as \u201cUbuntu\u201d are sources of our pride.<\/span>\n

    <\/span><\/li>\n

  3. African youth and women are a critical foundation for building the success of our continent and must play a central role in building the Africa We Want for<\/span> Unity, Justice, Peace and Dignity. <\/b>We are committed to building an intergenerational dialogue and strategic collaboration with our elders to advance a shared-vision.<\/span>\n

    <\/span><\/li>\n

  4. Africa\u2019s diaspora, whether displaced through slavery and colonialism or part of modern-day migration occasioned by political, economic and climate change factors, is part of Africa\u2019s history and future. We commit to ensure that their reservoir of knowledge, skills, resources and passion are part of advancing Africa.<\/span>\n

  5. We are committed to a decentralised people-centred future, that will build support and solidarity for local struggles and immerse our activism in building social movements from the grassroots.<\/span>\n

    <\/span><\/li>\n

  6. We are committed to building a people\u2019s movement that is accountable to the people we represent.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    THEREFORE, WE RESOLVE THAT OUR WORK SHOULD BUILD A LOCAL, NATIONAL, CONTINENTAL AND GLOBAL CAMPAIGN THAT IS:<\/h4>\n

    1. Expanding space for civic and political action<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. Fighting for women\u2019s rights and freedoms across society<\/span><\/li>\n
    3. Focussing our struggles on the right to Equity and Dignity<\/span><\/li>\n
    4. Demanding good governance as we fight corruption and impunity<\/span><\/li>\n
    5. Demanding climate and environmental justice<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Join this Africans Rising Movement<\/em> and mobilise our people around this shared vision; organise and connect local struggles under this umbrella; galvanise solidarity with all African struggles. This movement is committed to peace and non-violent action. We assert our inherent rights as Africans and invite our governments, leaders, other stakeholders and institutions to join us in pursuing the Future We Want<\/em> to leave our future generations.<\/span><\/p>\n

      We commit to mobilising our people in Africa to launch this Movement on the 25<\/span>th<\/span> May, 2017, when we deepen the meaning of African Liberation Day and call on all sectors of our society to mobilise and organise events in every African country that will build the momentum towards the genuine liberation of our beautiful continent.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
