Africans Rising condemns the violent conflict that has erupted in Sudan between the Sudan Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces. The violence which started on April 15 and continues to rage on, has led to the killing of at least 97 civilians, and young people are being forced to go to war.
As the Sudan Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces continue this violent quest for power, the people’s revolution which has been hijacked by the military hangs in the balance. Africans Rising, calls on all members of the African community to stand in solidarity with the people of Sudan.
We send our condolences to the families and communities who have already lost loved ones to this conflict, and our solidarity to the people in Sudan who now live in fear for their lives.
We call for an immediate ceasefire for the sake of these innocent people, and the resumption of efforts for the return to Civilian rule in Sudan.
